Heather has taken her lifelong love of skiing and turned it into her lifestyle. She began competitively alpine racing at age 8 and went on to ski for the University of Vermont. Her equipment choice changed slightly and she found herself competing internationally on telemark skis. As a member of the US and World Cup Team, she travelled extensively throughout North America and Europe, earning two National titles and a World Championship medal. Since the days on the World Cup circuit, Heather competed in the X-Games Skier Cross, big mountain competitions, (on both telemark and alpine), served as a backcountry snowcat guide in Crested Butte, Colorado and a heli guide in Valdez, Alaska. She has several first telemark descents in the Chugach Mountains and recently in the Altai Mountains in Northwestern China and Kazahkstan. Heather has focused on growing the sport of telemark skiing through her women's telemark adventure camps, Ultimate Groove. Ultimate Groove hosts telemark clinics and camps in Colorado, Utah, California, Vermont, New Hampshire and Wyoming. Heather also assists in ski design for K2 Telemark and is part of their Women's Telemark Alliance Team.
