Fri February 22, 2008 8:28am Hey, all you Marmot heads! It’s Brenton and John here. We have arrived safely in El Chalten. We were delayed a little bit in El Calafate. Two bags got lost in Buenos Aires. We got in about midnight last night; found out first thing this morning the weather is going to be pretty much splintered starting Saturday afternoon through Tuesday so we hastily packed up all our gear. We also found out that the horses don’t operate around here anymore but we’re going to do a little more research on that. Our Alpinist 55 packs are currently exploding with massive amounts of gear, and we are about to head up to the north side of Fitzroy. We plan another dispatch sometime Tuesday or Wednesday - that is the weather window with the forecast that we got from some climbers here in town. That’s about it. We don’t know what we’re going to climb. We may go climb a couple of easier routes and get warmed up. Or if the weather looks good we may go right to the base and climb the north pillar on Fitzroy.
