Many emblematic climbing areas in Latin America are unprotected. No legal protection, and importantly, no local, regional, or national organization to fight development or exploitation. Protecting climbing environments must be done by locally mobilized climbers, who are committed to conservation and stewardship of the places where they climb.

Acceso PanAm / Access PanAm is a new climbers access and conservation organization dedicated to filling that pivotal gap - that is, encouraging, organizing, and supporting local climbers to join together into local, regional, and national organizations. Access PanAm works to ensure climbing access for current and future generations, whether for rock climbing, ice climbing, mountaineering, or bouldering. Right now, Access PanAm is an unincorporated network of climbing and conservation activists, national and local organizations, and corporate partners in a dozen Latin America countries.
