Outward Bound West is a nonprofit organization founded in 1961 that offers wilderness-based education courses for people, ages 14-65+, emphasizing in outdoor adventure and personal development. Courses focus on challenge, discovery and fun, while developing self-confidence, leadership and teamwork skills as well as a respect for the environment. Marmot and Outward Bound West are scholarship partners offering a yearly Summer Wilderness Leadership Semester Course and the gear needed to complete the course to one lucky college student every summer.
