The Scree pant should really be called the “Deflector pant”. The deflect not only scree but dirt, rain, snow, ice screw teeth, crampons usually but not all of the time, and believe it or not germs. Recently I wore them on a trip to Nepal to teach Nepalis ice climbing and didn’t take them off for a whole month. They still looked freshly new and unworn despite the lack of washing facilities. The water was frozen so we didn’t even have an option to wash hands, one time that hand sanitizer really was necessary. The pants stayed black and held a fresh look despite the dusty trails and proximity to beasts of burden. The Scree pants are also the one pair of pants that I wear all year long, and I always know with them what pair of pants I will take on any adventure. In the winter I wear power stretch under them for skiing and climbing. They are the most comfortable pants I’ve found to move in and the smart hem stays over my climbing and ski boots so no need for gators, yeah! And the pocket doesn’t come out with your hand thanks to it’s slick texture… and the length works for people 5’4” up to 6’5”. Why not simplify your wardrobe and choose just this one pair of pants?
