Founded in 1985 by the Swiss Guide Ruedi Beglinger. Today Selkirk Mountain Experience Ltd. is proud to be part of the world's leading mountain guiding services. The prime objective is to guide you to interesting high alpine peaks, lead you on spectacular alpine rock and ice routes and show you the bottomless adventure of skiing the deepest powder snow. Our main operating area is the remote Durrand Glacier in Western Canada. This area is only accessible by helicopter which definitely gives you the feel as you would tour in your own private area. At Durrand Glacier we offer hiking the wide open alpine meadows, mountaineering school programs and during the winter months the worlds best powder-snow skiing and ski-mountaineering in a pristine glaciated alpine world. Additional SME programs invite you to the West Alp's Haute Route and 4000 m ski-peaks in Chamonix, Grindelwald and Zermatt, high alpine ski-traverses in Western Canada and ski-expeditions to the St. Elias mountain range in Alaska and the Yukon. All SME mountain guides are certified with the Canadian and International Mountain Guide Association.
